The nice thing about the latest tracer series of solar charge controllers from EPSolar / EPEver is the COM port which can be used to configure or monitor the system over RS485 using MODBUS.

The only issue is that the official cable is only available from a small list of suppliers and considering the price of the controller seems to be quite expensive.

In this video I make my own cable for less than a pound. I then hook it up and configure the battery charging parameters.
