The US administration will resume shipping 500pound bombs to Israel amid the ongoing war in Gaza. However, it will continue to hold back on supplying 2,000pound bombs over concerns about their use in densely populated areas. Turkish President said the US administration are complicit in what he alleges are Israeli war crimes and violations of international law during in the Gaza war. Iran’s President elect, Masoud Pezeshkian, has written to Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh to reassure support for the Palestinian cause. In his letter, he considers support for the Palestinian people and standing up to Israeli occupation a “human and Islamic duty”. The US military said Houthi rebels likely fired an Iranianmade antiship cruise missile at a Norwegianflagged tanker in the Red Sea in December.
