Erickson’s expert pilots and a fleet of speciallyequipped S64 helicopters are deployed seasonally to wildland fire hotspots around the world. Erickson S64 helicopters armed with 2,650gallon (10,031liter) water tanks combine the capacity of a fixedwing tanker with the accuracy and refill speed of a helicopter. The S64 can drop more than 25,000 gallons (~95,000 liters) every hour while providing aerial firefighting services.

Our ram scoop hydrofoil attachment refills from freshwater or saltwater sources in as little as 30 seconds, and the original “Hover Snorkel” design refills within 45 seconds from freshwater sources as shallow as 18 inches (46 centimeters). Once the fire has been extinguished, the Helitanker can deliver stabilizing hydroseed to jumpstart revegetation and prevent erosion. Erickson’s Hydroseed operations are particularly effective on steep slopes and inaccessible areas.
