The movie depicts a ride on the Essex steam train in Connecticut during July 2018. The Essex steam train or Valley Railroad is a heritage railway on tracks of the former Connecticut Valley Railroad, which was founded in 1868. The ride starts in Essex and runs for 12 miles mostly through the woods to Deep River station, where you can ride with a riverboat on the Connecticut river before riding back with the train to Essex. The engine, # 3025 is originally a China Railways SY 282 type locomotive. The engine has been rebuilt by the Valley Railroad to resemble a New Haven Railroad J1 Mikado and was renumbered to NH #3025.
