The meteor shower of the Eta Aquarids reaches its peak around May 6th. While it is the strongest meteor shower of the year in the southern hemisphere with around 60 shooting stars per hour, you can only see a fraction of these in the northern hemisphere, since the radiant only rises in the morning. So here in Lower Saxony / Germany I only had a time window of about 1 hour before the sun rose.

Der Meteorschauer der EtaAquariiden erreicht um den 06. Mai herum seinen Höhepunkt. Während er auf der Südhalbkugel mit ca. 60 Sternschnuppen pro Stunde den stärksten Meteorschauer des Jahres darstellt, kann man hier auf der Nordhalbkugel nur ein Bruchteil von diesen sehen, da der Radiant erst am Morgen aufgeht. So hatte ich hier in Niedersachsen nur ein Zeitfenster von ca. 1 Stunde bevor dann die Sonne aufging.
