Alpha Jet or Hawk? In the spring of 1986, the Armament Services Group (GRD) tested which of the two military training aircraft were better suited for the Swiss Air Force.
Performance data and flight characteristics, suitability for troops and suitability as a training instrument, reliability and costeffectiveness were checked in the context of troop tests.

Finally the BAE Hawk Mk. 66 was chosen by Swiss Airforce and 20 units were ordered in 1987. The Hawks were in service between 1990 and 2002.
