We can trust the voice of the Good Shepherd, even when we lack full understanding as to "why." Pere Jacques experienced a tension when God called him to Carmel as it seemed at odds with his call to be a teacher. Pere Jacques continued to trust God's call and only years later saw the two vocations come together in Carmel.
