In this video, Meredith is guiding you through exercises that help support the Activities of Daily Living or ADL. Activities of daily living (ADLs) are defined as essential and routine tasks that healthy individuals can perform without assistance. The core movements that make up the ADL's are:

Ambulating: The extent of an individual’s ability to move from one position to another and walk independently.
Feeding: The ability of a person to feed oneself.
Dressing: The ability to select appropriate clothes and to put the clothes on.
Personal hygiene: The ability to bathe and groom oneself and maintain dental hygiene, nail, and hair care.
Continence: The ability to control bladder and bowel function
Toileting: The ability to get to and from the toilet, use it appropriately, and clean oneself.

For this workout, Meredith is using a small stepping platform and optional light weight dumbbells. This is an intermediate level workout so be sure to preview this video before attempting the full routine. Remember to only do moves that don't cause any pain or discomfort and take breaks when you need to.

Have a great workout!
