Set in 1930s New York, the film revolves around Georgia Nolan, a determined 16yearold aspiring to become the first female firefighter. Despite her father Shawn's discouragement due to societal norms, he's called out of retirement to lead a team combating an arsonist. Georgia disguises herself as "Joe" to join the team, meeting unique members like Jin, who battles narcolepsy, Ricardo, passionate about science, and Laura, an opera diva defying societal barriers. Unveiling her true identity, Georgia confronts her father's past, resolves a sabotage attempt, and fulfills her dream, ultimately breaking barriers by officially joining the station.
