In Oregon, landlords can move to evict their tenants if they haven’t paid rent, violate their lease, or are engaging in illegal or dangerous activities. But just because a tenant has committed one of the preceding doesn’t mean you can change locks or remove the tenant yourself. You must comply with state law and take the proper steps to reclaim your property.

Oregon has a few uncommon laws, such as a rent grace period. Before you deliver a notice, watch our video for everything you need to know to evict your tenant in the state. Then, head to the link above for official eviction notices and court documents.

Oregon Eviction Laws:
NonPayment of Rent: 3 Days (ORS § 90.394)
NonCompliance: 14 Days (§ 90.392)
Rent Grace Period: 58 Days
