On their 60th anniversary Meet The Flintstones! GRANDDAD!

I take a look at the history and evolution of Fred and Wilma Flintstone, Barney and Betty Rubble and their children Pebbles and BammBamm, the modern stone age creations of William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, the very first Prime Time cartoon series in history.

Inspired by classic sitcom, The Honeymooners, The Flintstones solidified HannaBarbera as a leader in the animation industry, and became the bedrock for all cartoon sitcoms that have followed – inspiring the likes of The Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad and King of the Hill.

I take a look at how the show and characters have evolved over 9 television series, 1 theatrical animated film, 17 telemovies and specials and 2 liveaction theatrical films and much, much more and how The Flintstones has become one of the most beloved cartoon franchises of all time – having remained on television screens continuously for 60 years!

I discuss the most important changes in their design and personality and in the stylistic and narrative structures of their productions prevalent across 6 decades of series and movies.
