Are you fearful you won’t reach your art goals on your own? Many selftaught artists, myself included, live with these doubts, worried they'll never be considered a “real artist” without an art degree. I’ll be plein air oil painting at the beach this week and sharing how I’m evolving my skills as a self taught artist. I believe art talent relies on practice and dedication more than anything else. It’s incredibly possible for selftaught artists to be successful! We have to learn to prioritize our art and set milestones on our own to see growth. I’ve been placing more importance on painting from life and landscape paintings. They have an amazing ability to tend towards abstraction and impressionism which has helped me improve my simplification and color matching painting skills.
