Microsoft Excel Tutorial: Learn How to Add a Printable Background to Your Excel Spreadsheet.

Welcome to another episode of Where is it Wednesday? In this video, we will be discussing a common issue that many Excel users face when trying to add a background to their spreadsheet. Have you ever tried to use the page layout and background utility to apply a background, only to have it automatically tiled and not appear the way you want it to? Well, you're not alone. In fact, Nada reached out to me with this exact problem and I'm here to help.

In this tutorial, I will show you a simple trick to add a printable background to your Excel spreadsheet without it getting tiled. This trick may seem familiar to those who have used Excel 2003, but it's a bit different in newer versions. Instead of inserting a picture, we will be using a shape to achieve the desired result. By inserting a shape and changing the fill to a picture or texture fill, we can then insert the same picture we wanted to use as a background. This allows us to access the transparency setting and adjust it to our liking. We can also get rid of the line style to avoid having a border around the picture.

Once we have our new picture set as the background, we can now enter any numbers or data we want without it getting tiled. And the best part? It will also print without any issues. Unlike the page layout background, which is only for display and not for printing. So, if you want to add a nice background to your Excel spreadsheet that will also print, this trick is for you.
