Excursion to the Moon (French: Excursion dans la Lune ) is a 1908 film directed by    • Segundo de Chomón   for Pathé Frères . It is, as is clear from the title, a remake of the very famous    • Viaggio sulla Luna (1902) Georges Méliès  , the film that Georges Méliès had made six years earlier and which still remained very popular. But while Méliès had handpainted his film, the 180 meters of film in Excursion dans la Lune were colorized, by the director himself, with the à pouchoir system, invented by De Chomón and developed and patented by Pathé.
