With the Varanasi District Court allowing prayers in the basement of the Gyanvapi Masjid the locks have literally come off and this could be the start of something really big. While demands to 'hand over' Gyanvapi have increased there is something big standing in the way. The Places of Worship Act, 1991... that disallows the conversion / distructioin of any religious place.

What will happen next? Will this act be delolished itself? A lot depends on how this act is read by the Supreme Court of India.....Here's more on the law that will determine the future politics of India.
