Wow. This video was a blast to film and edit. This summer trip to Gerês was one of the best I've taken in a long time!
Gerês is a wonderful region in the north of Portugal and it's beautiful to visit both in the Summer and in the Winter. My preference? Summer! It is filled with waterfalls, rivers and dams that have the most transparent, crystal clear water that you have ever seen.
Absolutely mind blowing!
And surrounding these water spots, you have the most amazing forest, full of beautiful trees... It's just an amazing vibe.
It was blazing hot so the hikes we took were challenging, but us adventurers don't quit!
And all the exploring adventures were worth it because there is not a secret spot in Gerês that isn't worth visiting.
It was an amazing friends summer trip, and I hope we'll be able to visit Gerês again next year, I want it on my yearly summer trips list!
Actually, I'm just now dreaming of that perfect water.

In this video I show you Barragem do Ermal (Ermal Dam), which is manmade, but no less beautiful because of it. The water was perfect, clear blue, and the scenery was mind blowing as well. Very easy access too! It's a place that is perfect to go and have a chill summer day, since you have easy access to the water, to food and lots of fun activities! You can also go hiking and exploring around the margins of the river, which is pretty cool.
We did a bit of stand up paddle and flew the drone, capturing a few good vibes during that perfect Gerês morning.
Would have loved to stay an extra day on this summer trip just to chill there at the Barragem do Ermal for a whole day after all the hot hikes!
