Extend eBike touring range with batteries fast chargers and technique even when wild camping

Ebike touring life

Many people wanting to try eBike touring have range anxiety. Based off over 6,000 km of bikepacking by ebike here's how I keep the batteries charged and manage to wild camp night after night relying on opportunistic charging. I started with getting a fast eBike charger, then added an extra battery and more recently have upgraded the eBike controller to the Bosch Nyon which has allowed me to build custom low assist levels that give me up to 180km from a 500w(hr) battery.

In the video I explain each of these in detail and also look at the importance of picking the right charging plug so that from one outlet you can charge you bike battery and multiple other devices all at once. Finally I discuss the role cycling technique has in extending eBike battery range and how across the day the balance between you legs and motor assist should change to maximise range.

This is a follow up to the very popular video I did last year after about 3,000km which can be viewed at    • Keeping the battery charged while ebi...   there is more about technique and the impact of hills, road surfaces and wind in that video
