The extensor pollicis brevis muscle is one of the five deep extensors of the forearm on the posterior forearm, together with the:
abductor pollicis
supinator
extensor pollicis longus
extensor indicis
It originates at the posterior side of the radius and the interosseous membrane and inserts at the base of the proximal phalanx of the thumb. Like the other forearm extensors, the extensor pollicis brevis muscle is innervated by the radial nerve. Together with the tendon of the extensor pollicis longus and the radius, the extensor pollicis brevis tendon frames the anatomical snuffbox.
The extensor pollicis brevis in mainly involved in the thumb extension and also abducts it.
In this video we will explore the most important facts about this muscle:

0:31 extensor pollicis brevis origin and insertion
0:46 innervation
