The Fairey Delta 2 (FD2) was a supersonic British research aircraft. The Fairey Delta 2 was specialised for conducting investigations into flight and control at transonic and supersonic speeds. It had a delta wing and a drooped nose, and held the World Air Speed Record for over a year. One of the two prototypes was later converted to the BAC221.
