The transition from late summer into early fall is one of the most anticipated musky hunting times of the season for most anglers but it is surprisingly the least understood. Over the years I have had the opportunity to speak with clients, friends and family and many of their questions are the same.

“Do the muskies move shallow in the fall?”
“Is it just a trolling bite in the fall when it gets cold?”
" Where do muskies spend their time as the lakes begin to freeze up?”

These are of course very hard questions to answer but in this vlog, which will be a two part series, I share my findings with you on the movements of muskies during the fall transition. I provide a few key takeaways for the midsummer period, late summer, early fall and then classic fall. I also include the water temps for these times periods and I show musky movement on my whiteboard using magnets to show my thoughts and ideas.
