It’s the fall season, also known as autumn,
and the green life of the leaves is almost done.
They turn beautiful colors, so many to discover,
red, orange, yellow, purple and many more!

It’s fall, that means Halloween is near.
On October 31st, it happens once a year,
where we put on our finest costumes for all to see,
decorate our porches and go to trickortreat.

We find pumpkins in pumpkin patches, juicy and plump,
and carve out jacko’lantern faces for fun.
We find other crops like gourds, corn and squash,
to go inside of our cornucopia!

Let’s get our sweaters, there’s a crisp chill in the air.
It’s time for apple picking with apples everywhere.
They’re so good for apple cider and apple pie,
with a scoop of ice cream, our taste buds come to life.

How about the cider donuts at the cider mill?
With a little cinnamon sugar to seal the deal.
Then hop a hayride with stacks of hay as your seat.
Check out the corn fields, more corn than you can eat!

Hop off to explore through the corn maze.
You must make it to the end before the end of the day.
It’s easy to get lost when everything looks the same.
Maybe friendly scarecrows will help you find your way.

Before you leave, be sure to get some goodies,
a delectable treat for your family feast,
like pumpkin pie with a dollop of whipped cream,
or peach cobbler because it’s just as sweet!

After Halloween comes November with 30 days.
We connect with family and friends in many ways.
It’s a time to be thankful and to celebrate.

Now let’s dig in! Pass the turkey please,
macaroni and cheese and the green beans,
dinner rolls, mashed potatoes and some gravy,
ham, dressing and cranberries!

We watch the leaves as they fall off the trees,
squirrels with their acorns as they scurry.
Nothing like a beautiful grand old maple tree,
that makes huge piles of maple leaves.

We rake them and pile them high,
and bag them up before we go inside.
We find pine cones, they are not just one size.
In our wagon, they become quite a pile!
