Flags will be lowered to halfstaff at the Michigan State Capitol Wednesday to honor Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Deputy William Butler Jr.

Deputy Butler was killed during a traffic stop in rural Hillsdale County. On Wednesday, family and friends will be gathering at Hillsdale College Christ Chapel to say goodbye to the fallen hero, father, war veteran, and friend.

The funeral for Deputy Butler is expected to start at 11 a.m.
