SLC had an interesting visitor from the Caribbean last night: Cayman Airways' 737 MAX 8 VPCIZ, flying in from Grand Cayman (GCM) on what I assume was some kind of holiday charter. Looking at the aircraft's history, it appears it visited five days ago, as well. Whatever the reason, it was a cool surprise to see this plane all the way out west!

This is also the first time I've seen an airliner not flown by Alaska Airlines use pulsing landing lights, which I thought was really interesting.

A final note, in the interest of transparency: the audio in this video is not the originally recorded audio. It's kinda hard to see in the video, but it was very windy yesterday evening, and it completely ruined the audio—and almost knocked me over a few times! I borrowed the audio from a video I took a few weeks ago of an Alaska 737 MAX 9. That plane was landing on the same runway at around the same time of day as this one, so it is still very realistic.
