This contracted shooting trip we are out hunting invasive species feral pigs and the odd fox. Things get a little wild, and I'm running my 308 Winchester rifle pretty hard fitted with the Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XL50 1024x768 HD thermal scope. Access into this area is with my mates Polaris XP1000 Northstar side by side ATV buggy. This machine is purpose built for his contract shooting business and works amazingly well in the terrain type we are in.

For thermal scanner duties, I'm running the amazing Pulsar Merger LRF XL50 thermal binoculars in a chest rig. I'm yet to use a device it's equal in image and functionality in all aspects. This IMO is the best thermal scanner you can buy as of posting this video in May 2024.

We are not shooting feral pigs for human consumption on this trip. It is purely pest control of invasive species in Australia. These uncontrolled animals are an environmental and agricultural menace, often carrying bacteria and diseases like brucellosis. Pigs are left where they lay as carrion. Nothing generally lasts more than a week in the Aussie bush before it's just a few scattered remains.
