In this video, I discuss how fastacting insulin also known as shortacting insulin or mealtime insulin work. This includes Novolog, Humalog, Apidra, Fiasp, and Lyumjev. It is surprising to know that these are not the same. Although they are all considered fastacting mealtime insulin, they do not work the same. Some are given before meals, whereas others can be given with the meal or after the meal. For that reason, it is important to learn which fastacting insulin best suits you. In this video, I help differentiate the differences between these mealtime insulins.
