For some years, a group of youngsters have distributed food in solidarity in several University of Puerto Rico campuses. Fighting hunger of body and mind through a system of solidarity contributions.

Desde hace unos años un grupo de jóvenes reparte comida de manera solidaria en varios recintos universitarios de la UPR. Combaten el hambre de cuerpo y mente a través de un sistema de aportaciones solidario.


Giovanni Roberto was born in Fajardo in 1982. He grew up in Caguas, in the rural area of Cañaboncitos, Barrio Hormigas. They suffered from hunger and poverty the result of long periods without employment. However, at 18 years old, he entered the University of Puerto Rico to study Hispanic Studies at the Faculty of Humanities, career which ended in 2005.

In those years, he became an activist and socialist. He was active in the International Socialist Organization from 2000 to 2014. He lived in Spain from 2005 to 2008, where he played in space Revolucionario Andaluz and worked in various social projects. Upon returning to Puerto Rico, he worked for a time at our school before returning in 2009 to the University of Puerto Rico to complement studies in Spanish for Secondary Education. He founded, along with others, the Centre for Political Development, Educational and Cultural Inc. in 2012, and then the main project, the Social Eaters Puerto Rico.
