Femoral Artery (A. femoralis):
Course:
○ Through the Vascular space (Lacuna Vasorum) to then enter the femoral triangle (formed by the Sartorius, Adductor Longus, Iliopsoas and Pectineus), then goes whithin the adductor canal and leavs the canal behind the knee to become the popliteal artery (A. poplitea)
Side Branches:
Superficial branches:
○ Superficial circumflex iliac artery (A. circumflexa ilium superficialis)
○ Superficial epigastric artery (A. epigastrica superficialis)
○ External pudendal artery (Aa. pudendae externae)
Deep Branches:
○ Deep femoral artery (A. profunda femoris)
§ Perforating arteries (aa. perforantes)
§ Lateral circumflex artery (a. circumflexa femoris lateralis) divides into three branches: Ascending branch, Transverse branch and Descending rbanch
§ Medial femoral circumflex artery (a. circumflexa femoris medialis)
○ Descending genicular artery (A. descendens genus)
