I took a stranger up on the offer share the extremely low cost to relocate his Piper Colt from one local airport to another for some flight time. It turned out to be a much more ridiculous and interesting endeavor than I would ever have thought, so I went back and wanted to document the debacle and share my experience and lessons learned with the rest of the aviation community. This version of the events is dumbed down to be a little shorter and more YouTube friendly; there was a lot of the story that contained small but important details that I had to cut out for the sake of time. Hopefully someone out there might learn from it! Also for legal purposes, it was not a commercial "ferry flight", I just use that phrase to describe that the aircraft was moving homes, but I was not being paid or compensated for the service of moving the aircraft. I was going to pay for my pro rata share of the flight and I use the term ferry to loosely describe that we were not returning to the original airport of departure.
