Hey guys! Not even a pandemic is gonna stop the av geeks from witnessing the retirement of two of Delta's oldest aircraft in their fleet...the McDonnell Douglas 88 and 90! After arriving from Pittsburgh on the 2nd to last MD88, I quickly headed over to DL90 and then waited for DL88 to savor the last moments of these workhorses. Because of COVID19, Delta had to speed up the retirement of these aircraft as well as some others in their fleet...but the MDs came first. Let me just say, after filming over 100 flights alone, this experience was one to remember and I can't wait to do it again! I never knew that this aviation community was so large and it really was so rewarding to go down to Atlanta to see the excitement from everyone (and sadness). Was just awesome! I created this video for those that unfortunately didn't get to come to ATL and for future folks who want to see what the final day of operations looked like at the world's busiest airport on June 2nd, 2020. Long live the Mad Dog!
