The QuickBooks Online Reconciliation Discrepancy Report helps fix reconciliation problems. Change a cleared transaction and you cannot reconcile the current month. If you remove a cleared transaction or unclear a check that was already reconciled, then you must fix the cleared balance, so the beginning balance of this month once again becomes the ending balance of the previous month when you had finished the prior month’s reconciliation. The Reconciliation Discrepancy Report lists all changes that have changed the cleared balance since the last reconciliation was completed.
We will go through the discrepancy report 1 by 1 and see how each type of reconciliation problem is removed. Once corrected, you are free to reconcile the current month normally.
It’s a great QuickBooks online report. It will show: what was changed, who changed it, when it was changed, how it was changed and what it changed from and to. It will even give you a shortcut link to each transaction that needs to be fixed.
