Some fun highlights in this one! at around 9min that top view is excellent. I wish the glare wasn't so bad... Even as it is I can see me avoiding or utilizing any high spots as I pinball my way through the terrain.

Im having to pump just a touch more here that if I was using a higher aspect but the trade off is well worth it to have smoother turns. At The moment it's all about creating flow for me, but it's not just a matter of riding well... conditions also have to align with your gear. Whether that's chancing the right condition due to having a limited quiver or selecting the right foils and setup for the job. Its not just the front foil... And it's often not the usual stab you'd put with it.

What can you see or predict out there? Do you have experience of the conditions to know what to expect? If so, what will you do about that?

Is it likely to be big? what fuse will you go with... I go for a slightly sized up 60cm fuse currently if it's medium to above conditions. Reason being I want a less twitch or turny setup, especially if im going to be hitting some big speeds! My 56cm fuse is reserved for smaller more tight bumps or dimply to free up a big foil... That has its own issues im finding due to the forces a bigger foil produces when following the tighter arcs of the shorter fuse.

front foil? What do I know... a big foil doesn't like going fast but it offers good low end and good on water stability and use of lift off. So even if there's some size to the bumps I'll consider the trade offs and weigh up if they are worth it.

Small foils aren't a fan of going slow they work better at higher speeds, even these new ones with all the reflex added. That means you'll need to go fast too! is that ok? can you path find at high speed?if not, consider something a little bigger. If you have the skills is the terrain likely to warrant a fast foil? likely not in tight bumps or bay runs, there might not be enough avenues to keep you free from running into hills.

What about stab? small is good, its efficient, that means glide... But at which end of the spectrum? I mean both but a small rear will also be best at high speed where it will function as intended. If moving slower a small rear can disappear on you, especially if your stance relies on the stab to create your platform... often this is if you Stan a bit far forward and you're rear leg is the dominant heavy lifter. Ive been known to use very! small rears! perhaps even smaller than the new 25skinny. I chopped my 35 skinny down to a span of 270mm from the original 360 or whatever they are (im not a fan of naming the skinnies by their spans) It has worked for me with the large foils but I not sure id want it when potentially being under foiled at the same time. It can be made to work though when using the 1401 in small conditions where you're fighting for efficiency. Im now more likely to size up my stab now... im more happy riding close to stall speed than I used to be and a big rear can give you a good push when hit by a bit if energy.

Out of space, be good!
