This was a fun part of the van build because we were finally able to put a lot of pieces together and finish off the conversion so it was ready to hit the road. We built a large storage chest on the passenger side of the van with a tabletop for working and eating inside. We used a long pianostyle hinge to attach a large piece of finished pine as a lid for the chest. We finished the lid by sanding it and then applying polyurethane so that out will be easy to clean.

This is the third and final episode in our 4x4 Delica van conversion series! The van we are using is a 1998 Mitsubishi Delica, originally built in Japan. It is the L400 model with a V6 Gasoline engine, 4x4, locking rear differentials for better offroad performance and plenty of room in the back for our conversion! We also have a large metal roof rack and ladder that will allow us to carry more cargo.
