Ah, the hack that started it all... and also the hack that got me exiled from the FEUniverse forums. Going back to this project after all this time feels surreal, to say the least. There's a mix of emotions that comes with seeing everything play out before me, ranging from wanting to get started reworking this project to never wanting to touch it again because there's no possible way I could make it good. Which of those two extremes will win out in the end, I can't say, but hopefully it's the former.

The reason I decided to go ahead and compile the story scenes for this hack was because I had plans to return to this project at some point and wanted all the story bits in one easy to access place. I do still think the story for this project has potential, but I don't think it would work best as a FEstyle game. There's some stuff I want to do that would clash with the FE gameplay formula, such as having the characters actually sneak around the fortress in chapter 3. It's also why there's little to no gameplay for these videos; this was my first attempt at making a hack, and I made a bunch of rookie mistakes in the process. The hack suffers from too many technical and balance issues to be really worth playing IMO, so the gameplay is secondary to the story here for me.

Despite everything, I'm still reasonably happy with a lot of elements of this story. There's definitely a lot of room for improvement, but I still think there's a lot to like as well. I don't know what the future holds for this project, but with any luck, it will have a future someday.
