Legal Eagle XL ORV with the Briggs and Stratton Vanguard 35 with 1.8 to 1 redrive. This video shows some of the first full power runs we made with this engine. This engine is completely stock with exception of removing all unnecessary engine sheet metal and the governor arm. Throttle goes directly to Carb operating arm and max rpm is set by adjusting the Wrap drive ground adjustable prop so engine is turning 3,600 rpm at wide open throttle. engine is smooth at higher RPMs but is a little rough at about 1400 rpm. Need to check prop balance and put some run time on it. Biggest complaint is the 35 is very heavy compared to the 1/2VW engine. The intent here is to check out what the larger 35 has to offer for the Legal Eagle XL. We want to keep everything simple and easy.
