In the spring of 2022 we took our first road trip in our Tesla Model Y, which makes this our first road trip in an electric car.
Having done a similar route last year in a gas SUV I decided to try and answer the following questions for myself and hopefully others will find it useful, especially as many times I will be crossing large distances in areas that are lightly inhabited so chargers will not be as common:

1) How convenient is an EV road trip compare to a gas one?
2) What does an EV trip cost vs gas?
3) How many broken chargers will I come across?
4) How often will I have to wait for a charger at a busy spot?
5) Is it annoying stopping frequently and waiting ages to charge?
6) What is the true range of the car at high speeds?
7) Is it worth booking a hotel with a charger?
8) How many miles can I realistically cover in a day?
