For today’s Five Minute Histories we feature the Famous Ballroom, which hosted legends like John Coltrane, Charles Mingus, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis and Etta Jones. It was also the home of Baltimore’s Left Bank Jazz Society, a group dedicated to jazz music and equality. Today, you will recognize the building as the Charles Theater!
