Five things to remind yourself everyday. Buddhism & Meditation in English | A Monk's Perspective

Since all compounded things are governed by the three law of common characteristics namely, Anicca (impermanent), Dukkha (oppression) & Anatta (uncontrollable) and no one can escape this true nature.

Therefore, the Buddha suggests everyone, both monk and lay people, to reflect on the five most powerful and practical daily reflections which can help lessen your worry, increase happiness and deepen your inner peace within.

"I am subject to aging, I have not gone beyond aging"
"I am subject to illness, I have not gone beyond illness"
"I am subject to death, I have not gone beyond death"
"I will grow different, separate from all that is dear and appealing to me"
"I am the owner of my actions (kamma), heir to my actions, born of my actions, related through my actions, and have my actions as my arbitrator. Whatever I do, for good or for evil, to that will I fall heir"
I cannot run away from the consequences of my own actions
