Flaperons for Newbies

The vast majority of airplanes, to include RC model aircraft, use ailerons, movable control surfaces in the wing, to control roll or bank. Many aircraft, to again include RC models, use flaps to shorten takeoff distance and allow for slower landing speeds.

It is very easy, using a computer RC transmitter such as the Spektrum DX6, to combine the functions of ailerons and flaps in an RC model aircraft by incorporating flaperons.

This video will go over the basics of ailerons and flaps in an RC model aircraft, show a demonstration of flaperons in my Lite Ranger model aircraft, then show you how to easily set up the flaperons with your DX6 transmitter.

Flaperons require a six channel receiver and two servos.
