Flawed design or unfairly treated by history? The Boulton Paul Defiant assessed

Was the Boulton Paul Defiant design unfairly treated by history or was it really flawed and should of never gone into service? Comment your thoughts below.

Based upon British tactical thinking of the early 1930s, the Boulton Paul Defiant was a turret fighter of the Second World War. Built to destroy German bombers, it was pushed into service at the beginning of World War Two. Often criticised as a poor fighter design, and while it had its flaws, the Defiant enjoyed early success against the Luftwaffe, before seeing more mixed results during the Battle of Britain. Being removed from daylight operations at the end of August 1940, the Defiant would become an effective night fighter during the Blitz and later in the war as a target tug. This video attempts to capture the triumphs and shortcomings of the Boulton Paul Defiant.
