Flight Attendant Fell From 33000 Feet And Lived Vesna Vulović

Follow
Season Untold

In 1972 Vesna Vulović, a flight attendant on JAT Yugoslav Airlines Flight Three Six Seven, survived a miraculous fall from over 30,000 feet after the plane exploded mid air, crashing in what was then Czechoslovakia. The leading theory suggested a bomb placed by Croatian terrorists caused the explosion. Vesna was in the plane's rear and plummeted to the ground in the tail section, landing in thick snow and surviving the world's highest fall without a parachute. Despite severe injuries, including a fractured skull, broken ribs, legs, pelvis, and paralysis from the waist down, Vesna eventually recovered and even returned to work for the airline. Remarkably she had no memory of the crash except for boarding the plane and then waking up in the hospital. Controversy surrounds the incident, with some suggesting the plane may have been shot down by the Czech military by mistake, challenging the terrorism theory. However data from the DC 9's black boxes examined by experts from Yugoslavia, the Netherlands, and Czechoslovakia, does not support the theory of a missile strike. Vesna Vulović's survival remains a remarkable and enduring tale of resilience and mystery. She passed away in 2016. #shorts #short
