Found this in my footage... the "impossible turn" executed in the Yak1. As you can see, cut off altitude was 250 meters; at a climbing speed of 300 kph the a/c still accelerated to just above 300 meters above ground level. Note that when approaching the runway the objective is to keep the airspeed up, even when the approach becomes very low.
