When Elliott Kendro needed imaging, he turned to Florida Radiology at Shell Point. “I had pain in the left and right side of my abdomen, and I just got to get it checked out to see if I'm okay.”

Florida Radiology is a freestanding facility under the Lee Health umbrella that offers a lowercost alternative for those who have highdeductible plans and low selfpay rates for the uninsured. “If you look at freestanding and the imaging choices around you, we are just as competitive as any other facility. And you have the added value of being under Lee Health, so your physician is able to log into those systems and see that you had your testing done within a Lee Health facility,” said Lori Carithers, Lee Health’s System Director of Imaging Services. “It goes right into MyChart and your physician can look at those results right away.”

While this outpatient office is located on Shell Point’s campus, it’s open to the public and offers a variety of different medical imaging services. “Xray, Ultrasound, and Echoes for all populations, for both adults and pediatric patients,” said Carithers.

The technology and experience is identical to what you’d see in a hospital setting. “These are the same radiologists that are reading for the local hospitals and other local facilities. It's the exact same read, the exact same radiologists,” said Carithers.
