Florida reports 60 drownings in 2024. How to stay safe in the water
Prior to the holiday, Florida saw 60 drownings so far this year. While the ocean is rougher than normal, according to lifeguards with Jacksonville Beach Ocean Rescue, drownings can happen in swimming pools with people just feet away.
