Fluid Mechanics Lesson Series Lesson 01B: Classification of Fluid Flows
In this 18minute video, Professor Cimbala discusses various classifications of fluid mechanics:
1. Viscous vs. inviscid regions of flow
2. Internal vs. external flow
3. Compressible vs. incompressible flow
4. Laminar vs. turbulent flow
5. Steady vs. unsteady flow
6. One, two, or threedimensional flow
Also defined are the noslip condition, viscosity, turbulence, Mach number, and speed of sound.

This video incorporates material from Sections 13 and 14 of the Fluid Mechanics textbook by Cengel and Cimbala.
