I usually spend an hour or two playing through a song, exploring the possibilities and making myself familiar with its melodic / harmonic structure and then make the recording.
The transcription comes later, using the software to transcribe from the midi file that I record as the video is recorded.
Two printable transcriptions will be on my DVD and are also available for download.One is exactly as seen scrolling on the video.
