Flying a cub across the country

Follow
Neal Culiner

An amazing journey across the United States, nearly coast to coast, in a cub, a Carbon Cub FX3 with IFR panel, autopilot, etc. Yeah, I know, no maps, reading water towers, etc. Amazing weather with a high pressure system across the entire US (almost) and tailwinds the entire journey. Smooth ride and great stops and people along the way. It was a dream journey, unlike the last time two years ago with little experience in the FX3, hot weather and turbulence I could do without.

It's hard to cram 4 days and 22 hours of flying into a short video. I could either do it in four parts or just let you see what you want. Chapters below you can click as desired or watch it through and cure insomnia.
