Flying the GlaStar back from Annual (condition) Inspection

Hiiiii! Long time no video.

Earlier this month I flew Woodstock to KBJC where I had access to tools and a willing mechanic to watch over my work to complete the Annual Inspection, (called a condition inspection for the Experimental world.) Woody got a 500hour mag inspection with new points, all new spark plugs, new brake pads, rebuilt brake cylinder, all controls inspected and lubed, tailwheel bolts retorquedall that n' a bag of chips. It took me about 3 full days (6 parttime) to do everything!

On this particular morning, I got in a rush to get in the air before it got hotter outside. (I got up at 4am to beat the heat, so excuse the messy appearance, too.) When I put the cowling back on, the piano hinge was misaligned. You can see it peeping out of the cowling shortly after takeoff. It can be a tricky bugger sometimes. (And don't let the piano hinge know you're in a hurry. It can smell your fear.) Fixed it as soon as I got back.

Woody's CHT gasket probe has been disconnected since I've had him, and after reconnecting I found it to be reading very high. So now he is getting a new CHT gauge and a new 4probe bayonetstyle system see if I was getting an erroneous reading and troubleshoot as necessary, so stay tuned for that too~ Anyway, enjoy this quick flight!
