A bit of a fun flight this evening to try out the recently updated F28 Fokker Fellowship in Microsoft Flight Simulator flying from Ramona to Big Bear City. Mistakes are made in recognition of the airfield, causing a rather precarious goaround, but we got there in the end :)

I ALWAYS LEAVE MISTAKES IN :)

I actually kind of love it when mistakes happen, because the lessons are always pretty obvious. In this flight, not reading the chart properly in terms of there being a localiser available, and then not identifying local landmarks for a visual approach were my undoing (and yes, in the real world I would have retracted the gear for the goaround) :)
