Recorded April 17, 2024, Dr. Dionne Toombs, Associate Director of Programs at NIFA, kicks off this webinar series highlighting NIFA’s contributions to helping reach the Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack’s goal of making MyPlate a household name. Then, Dr. Caree Cotwright, Director of Nutrition Security and Health Equity at USDA Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) and policy official for MyPlate along with the USDA FNS Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion MyPlate Team, provides an overview of USDA’s MyPlate Promotional Plans and ways attendees can engage in the work ahead. After opening remarks, the event transitions to various flash talks from EFNEP and SNAPEd Teams across the country on ways they are using MyPlate and ideas they have for accelerating progress on making MyPlate a household name.
