The land on which the home sits was given to the Moose family as part of a 168 acre land grant given by President James Monroe.
The home has only been in the possession of three families since it's inception. The second owners served many years as diplomats for the United States in the Middle East and Europe, and it was under their ownership that some renovations were undertaken on the home.
The current owners have lovingly and exquisitely maintained and preserved the home.
